Recently the cat was commonly believed to have been domesticated in ancient Egypt, [thats what I thoughtas well!] where it was a cult animal. I think some people worship their cats even now :-)

A 2007 study found that the lines of descent of all house cats probably run through as few as five self-domesticating African Wildcats around 8000 BC, in the Near East. Now THATS a long time ago!

Dogs are Furry

Domestic dogs have a coat, a layer that covers its body. A dog coat may be a double coat, made up of a soft undercoat and a coarse topcoat. Unlike the wolf, some dogs may instead have just a single coat. Dogs with a double coat, are adapted to survive in colder temperatures, and tend to originate from colder climates. I need 2 coats when it 10 below here in St. Paul!
